On 26 November 2020, the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM, 2004) came into force in Poland. The Convention was published on 15 October 2020 in the Polish Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1800.
According to the guidance on contingency measures related to ballast water included in BWM.2/Circ.62 of 26 July 2017, Port of Gdańsk Authority S.A. would like to inform you that it is possible to discharge ballast water which does not comply with the requirements of the Convention on the premises of the port, using equipment owned by ECO POINT P.S.A.
We would also like to inform you that the cost of discharging ballast water needs to be incurred by the operator of the ship and that all terms and guidance on the provision of the service need to be discussed with a representative of ECO POINT P.S.A. each time.
